What Happened When Portugal Decriminalised Drugs?
Economist Films: For 20 years The Economist has led calls for a rethink on drug prohibition. This film looks at new approaches to drugs policy, from Portugal to Colorado. “Drugs: War or Store?” kicks off our new “Global Compass” series, examining novel approaches to policy problems. Gaza One Year After The War: Devastation Everywhere
Gaza is still in ruins one year after the 51-day war Israel called “Operation Protective Edge.” The territory hasn’t been allowed to rebuild, and the majority of Gaza’s children are showing signs of extreme emotional distress. Transhumanist Wager by Zoltan Istvan Review Part Two
In part one of my review of the Transhumanist Wager by Zoltan Istvan, I covered the political end of the book. Part two of the review is going to cover the Transhumanist end of the book. Three Laws of Transhumanism are: A transhumanist must safeguard one’s own existence above all else. A transhumanist must strive to achieve omnipotence as expediently as possible—so long as one’s actions do not conflict with the First Law. A transhumanist must safeguard value in the universe—so long as one’s actions do not conflict with the First and Second Laws. By and far this is the worst part of the book. It is a poor mans…

America Failing: Former CIA Deputy Director Doubles Down On Dumb
Vice News did a puff piece for former CIA Deputy Director Michael Morell. Michael Morell in the video doubled down all over dumb as it regards the detention and interrogation program. In the video it lists all the reasons and beliefs as to why it was legal and accurate. A broken clock will be right twice a day, you would think after everything has been laid out, that Michael Morell would have the honor and the integrity to state that the detention and interrogation program was wrong. What annoys me about these Baby Bush people is how they just keep stating how right they had been, when the world and the universe all knows better.…

The Lack Of Cyber Security
Below is a video from Meet The Press, that fails at covering the real issue behind the lack of Cyber Security. Mind you, no one within the video was even close to answering the real problems of Cyber Security. To make matters worse, one of the people in this video is a retired General who is now working in a Cyber Security firm. Let’s get some things right now. The US Government has not properly funded agencies for years. These agencies are using outdated systems and software. When you combine that level of stupidity with the NSA wanting a back door into everything, you are going to get breaches. It…

Transhumanism – The Final Religion?
After several decades of relative obscurity Transhumanism as a philosophical and technological movement has finally begun to break out of its strange intellectual ghetto and make small inroads into the wider public consciousness. This is partly because some high profile people have either adopted it as their worldview or alternatively warned against its potential dangers. Indeed, the political scientist Francis Fukuyama named it “The world’s most dangerous idea” in a 2004 article in the US magazine Foreign Policy, and Transhumanism’s most outspoken publicist, Ray Kurzweil, was recently made director of engineering at Google, presumably to hasten Transhumanism’s goals. So, what are these goals and how does Transhumanism define itself? Well,…

The New Mont Order Dissidents – Wisdom emerges through endurance and diversity.
Originally Published by Dissident Voice. In my past articles on the Mont Order club, I talked about what the group used to be and how I think it represents an ideal of wisdom through diversity of religious, political and philosophical thought that I see a great role for in the world. Since I last wrote on this subject, the Internet has proved to be firm and reliable ground upon which to rebuild the Mont Order as a real community and a real organization. This means that a new iteration of the Mont Order exists and the group is no longer defunct. At this time, a promising number of bloggers have…

The Greek Crisis – Storm Clouds Gathering
I love the folks at Storm Clouds Gathering. Below is a fantastic video covering many of the same topics that our own article covered regarding the warning on the World Markets. The key thing to remember is that this is a slow process right now. The Greek banks have not opened yet, so keep that in mind. The Wave Chronicle is still holding to the warning regarding World Markets and that will stay in place until the Greek banks reopen. As far as China is concerned, the Chinese Government stood up and beefed up the market, some would call it rigging the market but I am not picky. China so far is holding…

Wave Chronicle Statement: World Market Watch
It has been an odd year for the world markets. Most markets, currencies, and commodities have been on a roller coaster ride this year. What has me concerned and why I have issued the World Market Watch is from a few separate issues. One is obvious and that is Greece, the other is a surprise and that is China. Greece is a failed financial system, it does not matter if they vote “Yes” or “No”, suffering will happen with either choice. For the Greek people, the Wave Chronicle believes that a “No” vote is best for the Greek people. You will have a shorter recovery with a Greek owned and managed currency. The concern…
