Can Space Be Infinitely Divided?
Sign Up on Patreon to get access to the Space-Time Discord! https://www.patreon.com/pbsspacetime How many times can I half the distance between my hands? Assume perfect coordination and the ability to localize my palms to the quantum level. 15 halvings get them to within a cell’s width. 33 to within a single atom, 50, and they’re a proton’s width apart. Half the distance 115 times and they’re a single Planck-length apart – 1.6×10^-35 meters. Surely we can keep going – .8, .4, .2 x10^-35 m? Bizarrely, those distances might not even exist in any meaningful way. Check out the Space-Time Merch Store https://www.pbsspacetime.com/shop Sign up for the mailing list to get…

A Universal Vaccine May Be Closer Than You Think
After the last year, we’ve seen just how progressive we can be at developing a vaccine. Never before have we made one so efficiently. But COVID has done more than just spark the development of COVID-specific vaccines, it has advanced the entire industry. So what will the vaccines of the future look like? Vaccinology is a discipline that is positioned at the focal point of immunology, virology, microbiology, public health, economics, sociology, ethics, and even international diplomacy. So when one thinks about the future of vaccines, one has to think about each of these elements, the future of each of these elements. And one of the most exciting developments for…

The Solar Car Revolution Could Change EVs Forever
Engineers are one step closer to harnessing the Sun to power your next car, giving the auto industry renewed interest in solar. In other words, the solar-powered car revolution is coming. For centuries now, countless inventors and innovators have tried to harness the power of the Sun. And today, the dream of using solar energy to power transportation is pushing automotive technology to its limits. But building a practical solar car–one that can actually compete with fossil fuel vehicles and today’s EVs–has never really seemed possible. Until now, you may have already seen solar cars with similar out-of-this-world designs before. But these vehicles aren’t just attention-grabbing concept cars or experimental…

The Slow Crisis Of Space Junk
While recent news about the Chinese Long March 5 Rocket made a lot of people very nervous because a 22-ton rocket was going to fall out of the sky, this sort of thing happens all the time. Boosters, dead satellites, and sometimes even old space stations get dropped out of the sky fairly often. While the litter seems a little inconsiderate, this is probably far safer than the alternative. The accumulation of space junk poses a huge risk to all human operations in space especially if we cross the threshold into the chain reaction of exponentially growing collisions known as the Kessler Syndrome. What If (Tiny) Black Holes Are Everywhere?
It’s fair to say that black holes may be the scariest objects in the universe. Happily for us, the nearest is probably many light-years away. Unless of course, Planck relics are a thing – in which case they might be literally everywhere. The NEW Warp Drive Possibilities
That Einstein guy was a real bummer for our hopes of a star-hopping, science-fiction-y future. His whole “nothing travels faster than light” rule seems to ensure that exploration of even the local part of our galaxy will be an excruciating slow. But Einstein also gave us a glimmer of hope. He showed us that space and time can be warped – and so the warp drive was conceived. Just recently, a couple of papers contend that these are not pure science fiction. Star Clusters Map The Galaxy Electric
Star clusters are large groups of stars. Globular clusters are tightly bound together and can consist of hundreds of millions of stars. Open clusters are loose groups of a few hundred stars and are mostly found within the spiral arms of the galactic plane. Contributor and Electric Universe advocate, Gareth Samuel, host of “See the Pattern”, examines how these open star clusters may help us map out large filament structures running along the spiral arms of the Milky Way. Easter Egg Hunt
In Andrew Hall’s finale of his “Eye of the Storm” series, he presented Easter Eggs—surprise geologic findings that confirm a theory, or present astonishing new information about Earth’s electric circuitry. Exploring the Electric Earth is a perpetual egg hunt because every rock confirms the Bunny is REAL. Electrical discharges follow patterns and behaviors that yield definitive information about cause and effect. Andy deconstructs such patterns embedded in the gorges and ridge-lines of Wyoming’s Laramie Mountains. Supernova
A supernova begins as a star then undergoes a very rapid transformation which, for an instant, puts out as much energy as the entire galaxy where it lives. This brief, all-encompassing flash is called “supernova”. The star is gone and we see something very different. The center pulses hundreds, even thousands of times a second. Every supernova remnant has a unique pulse shape, unique like your fingerprint or voice, and around its pulsing center is a rapidly expanding larger electric and magnetic body. Astrophysicist Michael Clarage, Ph.D., and the Lead Scientist of The SAFIRE Project bounce back and forth between the world of supernova and the world of people, in…

UFO or Plasmoid? | Thunderbolts
In 1956, Winston Harper Bostick demonstrated that an amorphous mass of high-velocity plasma has a natural ability to convert a large proportion of its kinetic energy into magnetic energy, contained in an organized toroidal structure. He called this structure a ‘plasmoid’. Archaeologist and Thunderbolts colleague Peter Mungo Jupp details the criteria of eyewitness accounts that some UFO sightings may in fact be plasmoids. They seem to possess intelligence, rise, and fall to the ground as though being flown, seem to fly in the direction of either magnetic pole, change shape, pulse, and can blink with multiple colors. This ubiquitous property of plasmoids is often recorded as UFO sightings. The Thunderbolts…
